Embracing the Future....

Miss Jillian had her 3rd B-day party yesterday and it was the cat's meow. Literally. After a long week of feeling sicker than most, I am feeling better. Nothing a ton of water and loads of sleep in 72hours; plus a z-pack could not cure. We are hoping to get on the boat for a few hours today with good friends Darby and Eric. Hope the weather holds. Aaron is off to Iowa for the week and I am back to work to get caught up for being sick last week. Excited for my cousin Blake and his fiance Jamie to come down in a few weeks. Plus a fourth on the Lake with friends!! We continue to be blessed beyond our wildest dreams in sickness and in health! Until next time: To RNR and Long Naps!!

What a great weekend and it is not over yet. Friday night we enjoy a great Sugarland concert at the Sprint Arena with Aaron rents and Tony and Mel. Then yesterday afternoon in St. Joe we enjoyed the beauitful wedding of Clarissa and Kyle (Clarissa is Aaron's cousin). Aaron and I had another jammed packed weekend (though I would rather be super busy then really bored). We spent Friday night painting and watching the rain drip and drop in our garden. Saturday, the rain continued as I went to a beautiful baby shower for a friend and Aaron headed back to work. Saturday night we took a long walk down to the lake and back. I love watching the sunset over the lake. Sunday was a shop til' you drop kinda day. We woke up and enjoyed a great cup on our deck, then we headed to Costco and the hardware store. We grabbed burgers for lunch and took a quick pit stop at the rents before heading to Spence and Andrew's engagement party. Good times and great peeps. We are starting the week off with a couple late nights and more yummy cups of coffee. We are looking forward to Sugarland on Friday, a family wedding on Saturday and a Father's day lunch with the Neal's on Sunday. This past weekend Aaron and I spent it peddling 80 miles across the state of Missouri on the Katy Trail. A great 300+ miles rail to trail system built in the early 1990's. We stay at the Katy Trail Bed and Bikefest on Friday night and then pedal our way to Jefferson City to hang at the Cliffmaner B&B.. We love B&B's. Plus we were able to enjoy a great Irish pint with fried portabella mushrooms with ranch for dipping after our long day in the sun. Then we woke early to a great breakfast from Thom and Liz. Then we headed back to Rocheport. About 15miles in Aaron's tire went flat and we had the wrong size inter tube. So luckily a mile up the road their was, how to describe it, a 15spot camp site along the might Missouri river, with old logs for chairs and people playing banjos on the rocks. As June is officially here, I am excited for summer time fun. We have a pretty busy June full of baby showers, engagement parties, weddings, Sugarland concert, the Katy Trail and we also are going to try and squeeze a few lake days somewhere. The past weekend was full of excitement. We started painting our basement- a much needed project (though we did not quite finish). We rode bikes with Tony, Jacob and Jillian on Saturday before we headed back to the city for lunch with my family for my sister's 25 Birthday- Happy Birthday Lauren! Then we spent Sunday on the lake more painting and Monday was spent at AB's rents house for some much needed BBQ time. Aaron's mom is recovering from Thyroid surgery and we thought she needed a few visitors. We hope Becky (AB's mom) will start feeling better now because the past 2 years have been pretty rough health wise for her. Keep her in your prayers/thoughts.
