Yummy Late Night Dinners....

This month has been full of ups and downs for Aaron and I. Trying to stay out of holiday drama, learning that you have no control, and how truly blessed we are in love.

I have been blogging for 3 years now about our lives together, not really know if anyone reads our blog or not. I started blogging because I have always loved to journal and it is a great way to clear my mind, a great way to reflect and it is a digital reminder of our lives.

What was happening 3 year ago:

  • Jacob was not quite 2 (He is 5 and Jillian is 2);
  • I was still in grad-school (I graduate in May 2008);
  • We were living in the city, blocks away from my work (I live 31miles from my work);
  • My sister had not meet her boyfriend Phil, who she has been with for 2 1/2 years ;
  • Molly had not meet Zach - they are going to be married in May 2010;
  • Allison had not meet Patrick- they have been married since May 2008;
  • We were planning our trip to Cozumel, Mexico;
  • Several friends have moved from KC to: St. Louis, Dallas, Austin, Chicago, Chill-town, Denver, & Tampa;
  • Other friends have moved home or out of the city to the suburbs- growing up is quite a strange thing.

2006-2007 was a year of weddings for us;

  • Brooke & Adam were engaged- they have a cute little baby boy Nate (8 1/2 months old), and have been married since Feb 2007;
  • Margaret & Justin were engaged-they have 2 big dogs, and have been married since Dec. 2006;
  • Kelly & John were engaged- they have been married since April 2007;
  • Darby & Eric were engaged - they have a cute baby boy Cash (7 mths), and have been married since May 2007;
  • John & Courtney were engaged and have been married since the Nov. 2007;

Like I said it was a year of blissful weddings, beautiful brides, and great parties. Though there were also tears shed that year, not only for happiness but sadness too. It is seems to me that god always brings great joy, when there has been great sadness.

Our weekend was spent with friends and family. Aaron and I spent Friday night was Rudi and his wife Sarah for a great dinner and a look through the bookstore. They are great people. Then Saturday- we braved the cold winter weather and went to the grocery store, before we traveled back home with 2 movies to watch in the comfort of our our home. We watched Terminator and Hangover. Plus we did some much needed house cleaning. Sunday Aaron went to the Chiefs game was Phil, Andy and Marc, while mom and I finished Christmas shopping and made pumpkin bread.Yummy!

We are back to work for a quick week. I am excited to exchange gifts with our families in a few days. We wish everyone a wonderful Christmas and New Years, may god be with you all.

Until Next time: Mint Chocolate Mocha's and Pumpkin Bread!!
