Time for a change

On Friday our family of three is moving into the city after 4 years in a small lake community. A 31 mile commute to work 5 times a week with a small child makes it impossible to spend time as a family during the week. We are very excited about this change, we will be back close to were Aaron and I went to College. Scott's new daycare offers more of a diverse surrounding than in a town of 99% white people. I will be 3 miles from work and I will get back 1hour and 30 minutes of my life back from not commuting. Aaron should get back on most days 30-40 minutes. For us being able to spend more time as a family is a top priority- so this change is a must. Scott was born with a hole in his soft palate and at times living far away from family and friends it was a very isolating year for us. The closest Pharmacy open after 5pm was 15miles away. We spent more time in the car as a family then in our house the last year. Scott's doctor was 17 miles away and his specialty doctors were a hour away from our house. At times we were at the doctor every other week: we feel so lucky to have such good healthcare providers in Kansas City that we did not have to drive further than we did the past 16 months.

It is like we are starting a new chapter is our lives- I feel this new house it were we also should have been. We have loved living in Smithville these past 4 years and are glad we will still be able to visit. We close on our new house tomorrow and we have already sold our current home. Below is a picture of our new house and when Scott man starts his new daycare next Monday he will be 17 months- does time fly:
